Meltdown weather, no AC, and a 1/3 of the house covered in plastic - it was almost a dare to stay inside. So we didn't. We lived in each other's pool, day camped at the beach, moved the dining rooms outside, and ate Mexican food at 9:30pm with candles on, while praying for the thunder heads to break.
Sunday morning and found a window to leave Captain with the culdsesac and sneak away for a quick date. Nothing fancy ... drove a few miles to The Camp. Tried to get into Old Vine but there was a wait.
There is always a wait.
Nate had an idea; the Vietnamese fusion open air restaurant. No wait. Something new.
Nate had a sweet and savory Banh Mi; I had Avocado toast with poached eggs and kimchee. We sat by a fountain, talking about the house remodel, vacations, and how time is going by too fast.
We decided that this year, we were taking more time outs; more family getaways and last minute excursions.
More slowing down, less speeding up.
Keeping up with my promise to run with time and explore more. Slow Saturday with Balboa Island vintage date night; Chinese food and frozen bananas.
