We had intended to spend a week in Amsterdam in September, just the two of us. The realization that we hadn’t been away sans Captain for almost two years hit me hard, and Nate being Nate, he decided that a night at a hotel wasn’t enough - we needed to fly to another country to get the job done.
And as life happens, we woke up realizing September was almost over and the thought of me getting on another plane (for the moment) made my skin crawl - we needed a break that four wheels could take us to.
It was a quick one - two nights - and it was needed. And great. And fun. And we also both learned that mosquitos are in full force in the desert currently so we are also a bit itchier than desired - so close your windows at night folks :)
