I usually don’t go to watch the boys ride. I get caught up in everything I have to get done, the time that watching them at the raceway will take from my work or chores around the house.
I’m glad I got out of my head today. I’m glad I got to enjoy a beautiful drive to a track surrounded by green hills and backlit trees. I watched Captain go around the kids track without a care in the world while I drank an almond milk latte with some cinnamon, watching the storm clouds move in and out and in again, starting a sprinkle that turned into a good size shower. Captain and I huddled in the truck reading Harry Potter while Nate was a hero and loaded up in the rain. We ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Fallbrook where I ate the entire basket of chips and salsa, drank two glasses of wine, and fell asleep with Captain as Nate drove us home.
I missed my Pilates class. I didn’t get through any of the work or chores that were on my list. And my nails are still chipped. We’re being lazy and making a big deal about going to In N Out for dinner. I’m still not hungry from the overload of food from lunch.
So yeah…it was an amazing Sunday.
