Plumbing moved. Electrical installed. Drywall dust everywhere, even with the plastic sheeting and faux wall. There was absolutely no way I was thinking of moving out of the house while we did this; and although we're cramped with limited ability to cook (I mean L I M I T E D), I underestimated the amount of drywall dust, and how it gets everywhere.
To the point that when I try to do a deep clean, I find myself in hives on my neck and chest - not as ideal as I thought.
Appliances are bought, kitchen design is pending. We made the window a little bit longer to maximize the view. Rick suggested no pendant lights over the island, which is what I first envisioned. Instead we are doing a fun chandelier in the dining room and leaving the view unobstructed.
The island will be long and substantial - almost 8 feet long. There will be seating on all three sides with shelves and a wine fridge facing the sink and range.
The logistics are almost over and I'll be able to start day dreaming about designing sooner than later.
Although we are definitely not having Thanskgiving this year.
